ZEWACT – which stands for Zambezi Elephant Welfare And Conservation Trust – is a bit of a mouthful and quite an unmemorable name. So the decision was made to change it to something more catchy.
The elephant bit is obvious, but the CREW stands for Conservation, Research, Education and Welfare - the pillars we are based on.
I refreshed the old elephant silhouette and used one of the lovely elephants – Kariba – as my model. 🐘

The new site sets out to explain our history and introduce the elephants and their carers to our audience.
It also explains how we’re achieving our goals in each of the 4 company pillars and how you can help our initiative.

‘Through the Eyes of an Elephant’ Presentation
In March 2020 we launched a brand new educational three-part tourism activity.
Guests start by experiencing a unique elephant awareness presentation on what it’s like to be an elephant. How do they smell? How do they feel?
Then they meet the elephants, feed them and learn more about their natural behaviours. The activity ends on the viewing deck where guests can watch the eles splash about in the water hole
